Why review volume and recency matter now
BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, based on 1,002 US consumers, found that 97% read reviews for local businesses and 41% say they always do. Recency matters: 74% care about reviews from the past three months, and 32% look at reviews from the last two weeks. 2. Set the timing
Send the first request while the experience is fresh, typically a few hours to a day after the trigger, and at a sensible local time. One reminder a few days later is plenty. More than that starts to feel like spam.
3. Write a short, human message
Keep it brief, personal and honest. Something like:
